Biography
Taylor Baumeister is a member of the firm’s Private Client Services Group. He works with individuals, families, closely held businesses, and charitable organizations on estate planning, tax, real estate, and nonprofit matters. Taylor also assists with tax compliance and other regulatory compliance for health plans and qualified retirement plans (including defined benefit plans, 401(k) plans and profit sharing plans), including questions relating to the administration and operation of benefit plans. Taylor has experience advising on ERISA fiduciary matters, employee benefit plan claims and qualified plan corrections under IRS correction programs.
Taylor advises clients on tariff issues as part of the firm’s cross-functional tariff response team. His practice includes analyzing recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings and their impact on tariff obligations, as well as identifying and pursuing potential refund opportunities. Taylor assists clients in navigating the process for recovering overpaid tariffs. Additionally, Taylor has assisted clients responding to customers who seek to participate in tariff refunds and understanding tariff refund sharing obligations.
Taylor earned his law degree from the Donald P. Klekamp College of Law at the University of Cincinnati in 2022. While in law school, Taylor served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Jeffery P. Hopkins of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Taylor also participated in the University of Cincinnati College of Law’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic as a student advising entrepreneurs through various stages of business development and was a Summer Associate with a full-service Cincinnati law firm.
Prior to law school, Taylor worked for a national digital marketing and advertising agency as a Project Manager. He earned his B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, cum laude, in 2018. Taylor is currently admitted to practice law in Ohio.
