Keating Muething & Klekamp Hires Six New Associates

The Cincinnati law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law®) is pleased to welcome six new associates: Samantha M. Berten, Kennedy E. Brooks, Kellan H. Coffey, Lauren E. Greene, M. Hunter Hardy, and Kassidy A. Michel.

Samantha Berten practices in the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group and is a member of the firm's Data Privacy & Cybersecurity and Intellectual Property & Technology Groups. Prior to joining KMK Law, Berten most recently served as Counsel at Fifth Third Bank where she advised business partners on legal issues related to privacy, cybersecurity, technology, AI, marketing, IP, and disputes. Berten earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, magna cum laude, in 2021, and her B.A. from Kenyon College, cum laude, in 2017. Berten is admitted to practice law in Ohio.

Kennedy Brooks practices in the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group and is a member of the firm's Data Privacy & Cybersecurity and Intellectual Property & Technology Groups. Brooks is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, United States (CIPP/US) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the ANSI-ISO-accredited International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Brooks earned her J.D. from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2023 and her B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Louis, with honors, in 2020. While in law school, she served as an Articles Editor for the University of Louisville Law Review. Brooks served as a Summer Associate at KMK Law in 2021 and 2022. Brooks is admitted to practice law in Ohio.

Kellan Coffey practices in the firm's Litigation Group, focusing on complex commercial and general corporate litigation matters. Prior to joining KMK Law, Coffey was an associate at a national labor and employment firm where she focused her practice on discrimination and harassment issues, as well as whistleblowing and retaliation. Coffey earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2020. Following law school, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. John D. Minton, Jr., Former Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court. Coffey is admitted to practice law in Kentucky.

Lauren Greene is a member of the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group. Greene earned her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2023, where she served as Managing Editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. While in law school, Greene worked in the Entrepreneurial Business Law Clinic serving startup companies and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Edmund Sargus for the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio. Greene worked as a summer associate at KMK Law in 2022. She earned her B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 2020. Greene is admitted to practice law in Ohio.

Hunter Hardy is a member of the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group. Hardy earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, summa cum laude, in 2023, where he graduated first in his class. While in law school, Hardy served as a judicial extern for the Honorable William O. Bertelsman, United States District Court, Eastern District of Kentucky. Hardy served as a summer associate at KMK Law in 2022. He earned his B.B.A. from Eastern Kentucky University, magna cum laude, in 2019. Hardy is admitted to practice law in Ohio.

Kassidy Michel practices in the firm's Real Estate Group where she advises clients on a wide variety of commercial real estate and business transactions, including the acquisition, sale, financing, development and leasing of commercial properties. Michel earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2022, where she served as an Editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review and as President for the Student Bar Association. After her first year of law school, Michel served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Beth Myers, Judge for the Ohio First District Court of Appeals. Michel earned her B.B.A. in Finance from The George Washington University. Michel worked as a summer associate at KMK Law in 2021. Michel is admitted to practice law in Ohio.
