Collin Ryan advises and represents clients in all aspects of litigation, with a focus on complex commercial and general corporate litigation. He helps public/private companies and individuals prosecute, defend against, and resolve claims in state and federal courts across the country—both at trial and on appeal.
Collin has experience in a diverse range of matters, including antitrust litigation, business torts, contract disputes, class action/multidistrict litigation, fraud/RICO claims, product liability/tort litigation, real estate litigation, shareholder/corporate governance disputes, and securities litigation. He also has extensive experience in False Claims Act (qui tam) litigation and has worked on qui tam cases around the country and across multiple industries, including pharmaceutical, healthcare, and military defense.
Collin earned his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected into the Order of the Coif. He was an Associate Member and Blog Editor for the Cincinnati Law Review, and also served as a Legal Public Interest Volunteer
While in law school, Collin also served as a judicial extern in the chambers of the Honorable Patrick F. Fischer, then of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals.
Currently representing the State of Ohio on claims against opioid distributors.
Currently representing the State of Michigan on claims against PFAS manufacturers.
Currently representing Major League Soccer team in breach of contract claims over naming rights sponsorship deal for new soccer stadium.
Represented closely-held corporation and majority shareholders in defense of breach of fiduciary duty claims brought by minority shareholders; obtained complete defense verdict on all counts.
Member of litigation team that represented egg producer in defense of antitrust class action claims alleging industry-wide supply reduction/price-fixing conspiracy, resulting in complete defense verdict on all counts.
Represented plaintiff group, comprised of former corporate officers/shareholders, in prosecution of claims against corporation and private equity firm for breaching/interfering with plaintiffs’ share redemption agreements with corporation.
Represented telecommunications company in defense of fraud claims arising out of computer equipment financing transactions.
Represented several broker-dealers in securities trading investigation.
Represented seller corporation in claims against buyer for breach of stock purchase agreement.
