Keating Muething & Klekamp Elects Five New Partners

The Cincinnati law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law®) is pleased to announce that it has elected five new partners: Sophia R. Holley, Andrew J. Kaminski, Mark E. Musekamp, Darcy A. Watt, and Allison A. Westfall.

Sophia R. Holley, an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Group, advocates for a wide variety of business clients, including large financial institutions and other business clients both inside and outside the Cincinnati area. Holley has successful first-chair trial experience to both the jury and the bench, and has tried cases in both federal and state courts throughout the country. She has successfully represented clients in real estate litigation, obtaining favorable results for her clients in litigation surrounding real estate, eminent domain, zoning disputes, and real estate taxation.  Holley also has trial experience in both defending and prosecuting hearings for preliminary injunctive relief, including the successful representation of both employees and employers in non-compete disputes.  Holley earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2013, Order of the Coif, Law Review Executive Board. She earned her B.A. from the University of Kentucky in 2008, magna cum laude. Holley is admitted to practice law in Ohio and Kentucky.

Andrew J. Kaminski is an attorney in the firm’s Business Representation & Transactions Group and represents privately-owned businesses on corporate and real estate transactions that are national in scope. His clients rely on his extensive knowledge and experience working with a diverse group of business organizations to creatively structure their transactions to maximize the financial benefits and minimize their risks. Kaminski’s services include mergers and acquisitions, business planning and formation, real estate development, commercial finance, and corporate counseling. Kaminski earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2013, cum laude. He earned his B.S. from The Ohio State University in 2010, Dean’s List. Kaminski is admitted to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.

Mark E. Musekamp is an intellectual property lawyer who advises companies of all sizes and individuals on technology transactions and intellectual property matters relating to trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. He advises clients in the licensing, sale, and acquisition of intellectual property and technology assets. Musekamp often counsels clients on intellectual property and technology issues that are parts of larger transactions and has helped clients in drafting and implementing security and privacy policies as well as negotiating agreements relating to these laws. Musekamp has significant experience in assisting clients in identifying and selecting strong trademarks and prosecuting federal trademark applications with the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office to secure clients’ rights in those marks. Further, he frequently aids clients in the management of international trademark portfolios by coordinating and advising clients with respect to trademark clearance, maintenance, and enforcement actions in jurisdictions around the world with the assistance of local counsel. As a result, he has experience in both enforcing and defending client’s trademark rights through adversarial proceedings. Musekamp earned his J.D. from Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University in 2012, magna cum laude. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati in 2009. He earned his B.A. from Xavier University in 2008, magna cum laude. Musekamp is licensed to practice in Ohio.

Darcy A. Watt practices in the firm’s Mass Tort Settlement Trust Group and Litigation Group. She regularly advises trustees of mass tort settlement trusts and qualified settlement funds on issues relating to all aspects of trust administration and claims processing including claims audits, Medicare compliance, and lien resolution. Watt excels in handling disputes and has represented her clients in hundreds of private arbitration and mediation matters. Additionally, she has extensive litigation experience assisting clients with general business and commercial litigation matters. Prior to joining KMK, Watt worked as a prosecutor in Los Angeles, where she resolved hundreds of cases and successfully prosecuted five jury trials to verdict. She also served as a judicial extern to Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Cole of the United State District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and worked in the Civil Appeals Division of the Office of Attorney General for the State of Illinois. Watt earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 2011, cum laude. She earned her B.A. from the University of Southern California in 2005, magna cum laude. Watt is licensed to practice law in Ohio and California.

Allison A. Westfall is an attorney in the Business Representation & Transactions Group where she focuses her practice in the areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions, and business planning. Her practice includes representing corporate clients in a variety of business transactions, as well as advising publicly-held clients on matters related to SEC reporting and compliance, the listing standards of the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market, and corporate governance matters. Westfall has experience reviewing and preparing filings under the Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934, preparing Section 16 beneficial ownership filings, and in Rule 144 transactions. She also has experience in the private placement of securities for both publicly-held and private companies and preparing related state "blue sky" filings. Westfall earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2013, cum laude. She earned her B.A. from Ohio University in 2010, magna cum laude. Westfall is licensed to practice law in Ohio
