Biography
Jim Schirmer is an associate in the Litigation Group, where he focuses his practice on real estate and construction litigation. His wide-ranging litigation practice includes, among other areas, representing individuals, companies, and public entities in contract disputes, construction, land use, zoning, and eminent domain issues. He also has experience litigating significant personal injury/wrongful death cases, trucking and industrial accidents, and FLSA collective actions.
Jim’s experience includes all aspects of litigation before state and federal courts, as well as private and court-ordered mediation, including depositions, oral argument, motion practice, written discovery, trial preparation, trial, and appellate litigation. Jim also advises clients on pre-litigation matters such as risk loss and prevention.
Prior to joining KMK, Jim practiced law with a large litigation firm based in Cleveland, Ohio, where he focused on representing business in a variety of civil matters.
Jim is a veteran of the Ohio Air National Guard, honorably discharged after serving for six years as a military intelligence analyst.
