James E. Burke Expands Practice to Include Mediation

The Cincinnati law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK Law®) is pleased to announce that James E. Burke will be expanding his litigation practice to include mediation of complex commercial and business cases. Burke is certified in mediation by the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Cleveland Mediation Center, a training program approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio.

For more than 40 years, as an award–winning litigator, Burke has helped business clients succeed in all types of complex litigation. During that time he has represented his clients in mediations and mediated settlements in hundreds of cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. He understands that many clients, particularly sophisticated ones, often are best served by resolving disputes without having to resort to expensive litigation. Burke’s extensive trial experience makes him uniquely able to speak candidly to both sides about the strengths and weaknesses of their case and how it may be received by a judge or jury.

“I understand the value of effective alternative dispute resolution and how this approach can provide a meaningful resolution for both parties, quickly, and at a reasonable cost,” said James E. Burke, Partner at Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL. “Having successfully mediated many business disputes I understand the nuances surrounding all types of complex mediations.”

Burke was inducted into the exclusive American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor reserved for the most experienced trial attorneys with the highest standards for ethical conduct, professionalism, and civility. He has become one of an elite group of litigators who can deftly handle complex cases of every type. Burke is known for his ability to succinctly assess and thoughtfully convey the risks and benefits for each side during each step in the mediation process. He is a practical, business-focused analyst who has worked for decades with some of the country’s most sophisticated businesspeople. A trusted business advisor, Burke brings instant credibility when it comes to bringing both sides to the table to reach an innovative, successful agreement through mediation.
