Biography

Megan Hymore advises both small start-up companies and large international corporations on intellectual property and privacy matters. She has a passion for helping clients grow their business by thinking outside the box, mining advertising claims from client innovations and assisting brands with intellectual property portfolio management. Megan provides definitive and actionable intellectual property strategies related to copyrights, trademarks, design patents, utility patents, and trade secrets. She handles trademark disputes, private label and trade-dress enforcement actions, licensing, and more.

In addition, Megan provides guidance regarding marketing, advertising, charitable donations, promotions, contests, sweepstakes, claim substantiation, ratings & reviews, testimonials, and endorsements. She resolves advertising disagreements between competitors and successfully manages advertising disputes before the National Advertising Division of the BBB (U.S.) and Ad Standards (Canada). Megan handles consumer complaints alleging false advertising, threatened class actions, and California CLRA claims. Megan also has experience negotiating celebrity talent and influencer agreements, branded entertainment and media deals, and sponsorship agreements.

Prior to joining Keating Muething & Klekamp, Megan served as in-house counsel for The Procter & Gamble Co. for more than twelve years where her positions included Global Privacy, Cybersecurity & IT Law Senior Counsel; North America Fabric and Home Care Senior Counsel; Feminine Care Innovation Counsel; and Cosmetics and Skin Care Innovation Counsel.
