Meg Johnson is an associate in the firm's Business Representation & Transactions Group where she assists businesses in a broad range of data privacy, intellectual property, technology, advertising, and corporate related matters.
In particular, Meg regularly advises clients on the ever-changing data privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). In this capacity, she helps businesses in various stages of growth develop and maintain privacy compliance programs. She is a member of the firm’s Cybersecurity & Privacy Team and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Meg has experience prosecuting federal trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as well as enforcing and defending client’s trademark rights in adversarial proceedings, including through the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center.
Meg also represents clients in various technology transactions, such as software development and licensing. Further, Meg frequently advises clients on intellectual property, technology, and data privacy issues that are part of larger transactions.
Meg earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2018, magna cum laude. While in law school, Meg served as blog editor for the University of Cincinnati Law Review, was a legal intern at UC Law’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic (ECDC), and a legal extern at EyeMed Vision Care, a division of Luxottica. She also served as a research assistant at the University of Cincinnati College of Law as well as an extern for The Honorable Michael R. Barrett of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Ohio.
Meg earned her B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Leadership from the University of Dayton in 2012.
