Union Membership Continues to Fall
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) will release its annual report on union membership for 2009 on January 22, 2010. The Corner blog has a preview, citing research by the Heritage Foundation’s labor-policy expert, James Sherk. Union membership continues to drop with the majority of union members (52%) working for the government. “Put another way, Sherk finds, three times more union members now work in the Post Office than in the auto industry.”
