KMK Attorney Charles Miller Wins Unanimous Affirmance from the Ohio Supreme Court
Charles M. Miller, a Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK) attorney, won an unanimous affirmance from the Ohio Supreme Court in In re Adams, 115 Ohio St.3d 86, 2007-Ohio-4840. Mr. Miller is appellate counsel for the Adams children, who are in the process of being reunited with their parents. A county children''s services agency attempted to appeal from an order denying the agency''s motion for permanent custody of the children. Mr. Miller prevailed in his argument that an agency cannot appeal from the denial of a motion for permanent custody.

John L. Muething Funds Full Scholarship at Covington Catholic
John L. Muething, co-founder and senior partner of Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK), and his family, have fully funded a scholarship in his honor at Covington Catholic. Mr. Muething is a 1939 graduate of Covington Catholic High School. The Muething scholarship is the first fully funded scholarship ever created at Covington Catholic.

Daniel J. Donnellon Cited in Ohio Common Pleas "Bench Book"
Daniel J. Donnellon, Partner at Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK), was recently approached by the Ohio Common Pleas Court Judges Association to include sections of his book "Injunctions and Restraining Orders in Ohio, “Practice Manual Series of Anderson Texts, 1992 in the courts “Bench Book”. Mr. Donnellon updated the original text first published in 1992. Mr. Donnellon’s book, originally designed to assist practitioners who may be less familiar with the trappings of injunctive relief, has become the most widely cited treatise in Ohio on the subject of Injunctions and Restraining Orders.

He has been appointed Co-Chair of the firm’s Corporate Investigations Group, along with KMK partner James E. Burke. The Legal Research and Information Resources (LRIR) committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association held its Twelfth Annual “Inside Look Program” for summer associates on Wednesday, June 13. Inside Look is a day-long program providing law students an opportunity to listen to and interact with prominent local lawyers as well as to meet other summer associates. Lawyers in various practice areas are invited to speak about the day to day realities of being a lawyer and to share insights and stories they’ve gleaned from their careers.

Chip Miller, KMK Attorney, Wins Reversal from the Ohio Supreme Court
Charles Miller, a Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK) attorney, won a reversal from the Ohio Supreme Court. In a 6-1 decision written by Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer, the Supreme Court agreed with Miller’s argument that an attempted possession of illegal drugs is a drug-abuse offense, and is subject to the mandatory sentencing provisions set forth for drug-abuse offenses.

Patrick F. Fischer to Co-Chair Complex Commercial Case Dockets Task Force
In Wednesday’s speech before a Joint Session of the Ohio General Assembly, Chief Justice Thomas Moyer of the Ohio Supreme Court appointed Patrick F. Fischer, a partner at Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK) and current Cincinnati Bar Association President, as co-chair of the Court’s new Task Force to help create an innovative docket for the Common Pleas courts of Ohio which would help increase economic growth in Ohio. Judge John Bessey of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas will be the other co-chair.
