Michael J. Moeddel Named Chairman of the Board of the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation

Cincinnati, OH — Michael J. Moeddel has been named Chairman of the Board of the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation (GCSC), a non-profit 501c(3) organization founded in 1987.  GCSC strives to enrich the community through the acquisition of amateur and professional sporting events by maximizing economic impact and promoting the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region as a premier sports destination. 

With a 22-year history of event management — from world and national championships to community-based programs designed to benefit youth — GCSC brings pride, visibility, and positive economic impact to the region.  GCSC is funded in part by and represents Procter & Gamble and the Cincinnati USA and Northern Kentucky Convention & Visitors Bureau.  Additional information on GCSC is available at www.cincysports.org.

Michael J. Moeddel is a partner with the Cincinnati law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL.  He has significant experience in structuring and negotiating complex business transactions and representing businesses in a general counsel capacity.  Moeddel has represented both publicly-held and private companies in acquisitions and divestitures of existing businesses, including cross-border acquisitions of publicly-held companies, the sale of large family-owned enterprises to private equity firms, international joint ventures, and strategic alliances.  He regularly represents investors in structuring and negotiating private placements of securities.  Moeddel represents angel investors, venture capital firms, private equity investors, and mezzanine lenders in structuring investments in start-up and existing businesses.  In addition, Moeddel has worked with clients in public securities offerings and other complex financing transactions.

In addition to his service to GCSC, Moeddel serves on the Board of Directors for The Council on Child Abuse, and he is a member of the Grants Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Foundation.  He serves on the Board of Advisors for Elder High School.  Moeddel served as Commissioner and Vice President of the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (2006-2010).  He serves on the Corporate Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association and he is a member of the Corporate Counsel Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association. 

Moeddel serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and speaks on matters related to corporate and limited liability company law.  He has been named to Ohio Rising Stars by Law & Politics, 2006-2011.  Moeddel earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, 2002, Order of the Coif.  He earned his B.A. degree from The Ohio State University, 1999, cum laude.  He is licensed to practice law in the states of Ohio and Kentucky.
