KMK Attorney J. Michael Hurst Elected to Artworks Board of Trustees
J. Michael Hurst, an attorney in the Intellectual Property Group at Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK®), was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of ArtWorks.
ArtWorks is a non-profit arts organization that connects artists of all ages with opportunities in the arts through inspiring apprenticeships, community partnerships, and public art.
“I am honored to be a part of this wonderful organization that has been enriching our community through its work for the last 15 years. I look forward to helping ArtWorks celebrate its 15th Anniversary in 2010; we have some exciting plans,” stated Hurst.

Hurst has extensive experience in trademark prosecution, protection, enforcement and portfolio management, copyright matters, domain names, brand management counseling, as well as in intellectual property licensing, both in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to joining KMK, Hurst served as Corporate Counsel-IP at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois. He earned his J.D. from The University of Cincinnati College of Law (1998) and his B.S. from Duke University (1995).
In addition, Hurst currently serves on a subcommittee of the International Trademark Association and recently completed his term as a Board Member for the Mt. Lookout Community Council. He is also a regular contributor to KMK’s “The Cutting Edge of IP” blog.
