KMK Attorney Joseph L. Trauth, Jr. Wins Court Decision for Rumpke

March 13, 2009

Joseph L. Trauth, Jr., Partner with the law firm of Keating Muething & Klekamp, successfully argued that a landfill owned by his client, Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc., meets Ohio's definition as a public utility and therefore is immune from zoning rules that had prohibited the landfill's expansion.

Mr. Trauth's practice is concentrated in areas of civil litigation, zoning and planning law and real estate law. He has been extremely successful in major rezoning for local and national clients and in obtaining real estate property tax reductions for major commercial properties in this region. He also has handled major eminent domain cases and construction cases. Mr. Trauth earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati and his B.S. from Xavier University, cum laude. He has been named an Ohio Super Lawyer® by Law & Politics (2004-2009, Land Use / Zoning), a Leading Lawyer by Cincy Magazine (2006), and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® (Land Use & Zoning Law; Real Estate Law).
