Biography

Jody Klekamp has been an integral part of KMK Law since 1991, with more than two decades of experience in real estate and transactional matters. She is a trusted advisor committed to serving both private and public sector clients in the areas of commercial real estate purchases, sales, and financing transactions.

Although her practice involves all areas of real estate law, Jody has vast experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and leases for shopping centers, planned developments, and office and warehouse facilities. She has represented real estate developers in the acquisition, construction and financing of single-family residential units, multi-family apartments, condominiums, as well as retail and office space, mixed-use, and professional sports facilities. Jody is highly proficient in representing larger developer clients in all aspects of creating and developing condominium and homeowner communities.

Jody also provides clients with practical advice when it comes to governmental land-use regulation, including zoning codes, applications to change zoning regulations, building codes, eminent domain and regulatory takings. 

Jody has served on several industry-related committees with the Ohio State Bar Association and is an active member of the KMK Law Women’s Initiative Committee. In addition, Jody serves on the Board of Riverbend Commercial Title Services LP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL.

Representative Work

Served as lead counsel during PLK Communities Phase 1A development of Factory 52, a mixed-use development in Norwood, Ohio at the former US Playing Card Facility. The Phase 1A project consist of apartments, retail, gatherall food court, offices, two (2) breweries, and a pickleball facility with 11 pickleball courts. PLK Communities intends to continue to develop the site into several different Phases, which Jody will be actively involved. 

Served as lead counsel during PLK’s development of ILA Hyde Park, a 51-unit sustainable residential community built along the Wasson Way hike and bike trail in the Hyde Park Neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Served as lead counsel in the development of Union Promenade, a mixed-use development in Union, Boone County, Kentucky. This entailed drafting a Declaration of Easements, Covenants and Restrictions for the development, along with sale/purchase agreements and various lease agreements. 

Served as lead counsel for PLK in its development of a 272 multi-family unit project known as Remington Lake situated in Hamilton, Ohio.

Represented developer in multi-family high-end development project in Lake Mary, Florida.

Represented developers in several commercial condominium projects.
